Skooba Computer Laptop Bag Review: Skooba Satchel 2.0: Stylish Case for MacBook or PC Notebook Computer

A laptop computer is a big investment, and the laptop bag that protects it should be equally nice. The Skooba Satchel 2.0 is a colorful and protective bag from Skooba that will please many teens, college students, adults, and fashionable senior citizens.

This bag has many nice features. It comes in awesome color combinations, has unique protective qualities, is durable, and lightweight. It won't carry a ton of big textbooks (as some thicker bags can), but for a medium width laptop bag, it is quite roomy.

Sleek yet Tough

Many people are bored with plain black computer cases. The sleek nylon exterior fabric of this Skooba has a slight shimmer and the neoprene color streak gives the design some refreshing pizzazz. The black bag with bright pink accents (pictured below) is even prettier in person. The “Superbungee” shoulder strap shows off some pink as well and adds strength. The interior is lined in the accent color with soft nylon. No worries for guys (or ladies not into pink) - this bag comes in several color combinations including khaki/black, gray/orange, black/blue, and olive/red.

The Skooba Satchel 2.0 is tough, despite its elegant look and weight of only 44 ounces. It is water resistant (and pretty much coffee resistant, as this reviewer found out). It wipes up easy and stays looking smart over the long haul. The zippers, clips, and straps are strong and work with ease.

There are cushy “Air Square™” pouches inside to protect the laptop from bumps. The hefty shoulder strap is cushioned with these same air pouches (expect others to squish them for fun), making the bag a comfort to carry. The shoulder strap is removable, so the bag may also be carried like a briefcase with its dual handles.

Skooba Bag Carries a Lot

There are many compartments and pockets inside this case. The laptop section holds laptop computers up to 17” (without the need for an additional sleeve), yet has an adjustable strap that may be tightened to keep even the smallest 13” MacBook snug. A divider panel makes a place for files and papers in the other half of the main compartment. On the front, an accessory organizer compartment holds power cords, office supplies, etc.

Price vs Value

The price is fair at just under $100. This may seem high to some, but the price is in the mid-range for laptop bags. This case is well made and will last longer than some lower quality computer bags. Regularly $99.00 - On Sale on the Skooba website (at time of publication): $79.96

It's obvious a lot of thought went into the design and construction of the Skooba Satchel 2.0 laptop computer bag. It looks good, is well built, and has clever features.

This is a good bag for someone who wants a case to carry a laptop, a few folders, and lots of smaller items. To carry much more, one might refer a thicker case with a more solid body. This is more of a soft-sided laptop carrier.

Improvements recommended? This reviewer can’t think of any, except perhaps to offer even more color combinations. The Skooba Satchel 2.0 laptop bag is a superior product that many will want to lap up.
