Error Message After Removing A Usb Device
A Universal Serial Bus (USB) device is the most common portable storage media used by most of the computer users to store, transfer and backup their precious work. This storage device uses flash memory to store data and typically comes in two forms – USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Flash drive (popularly known as Pen drive and Thumb drive) and USB 2.0 Hi-Speed External hard drive. A USB device can become inaccessible when a user physically unplugs the USB drive from the computer system while a read/write process is in progress. In this case, if you have not created any back up of files in the USB drive, you need to use effective Data Recovery Software to recover and restore the data.
As a real world scenario, when a user removes a USB device from the computer system, he encounters the below error message:
"{Delayed Write Failed}
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file DeviceHardDiskVolume."
The above error message appears when the user unplugs the USB device before receiving any confirmation from the Safely Remove Hardware program that the service is stopped and that the device is removed from Device Manager.
If any of the above situations occur, then the computer can not find the USB device that the user specified in the Safely Remove Hardware program. To avoid the above error message, the user needs to use either the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard or the Unplug or Eject Hardware icon in the notification area to stop a USB storage device before physically unplugging it from the computer system. In such situations, the data saved in the USB drive becomes inaccessible. To access the data, the user can restore it from the recent back up. But, if the user has not created any back up, then he needs to use a third party application known as Data Recovery Software.
